Professional Referrals

I work alongside case managers, solicitors, and clinical teams supporting clients through complex neurological and injury recovery. Below is an overview of the areas I support, the approach I use, and how to make a referral.

Why Consider Solution Focused Hypnotherapy For Your Client?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy draws on current neuroscience and psychotherapy to help clients create meaningful, lasting change — often within 5–8 sessions. Sessions combine goal-focused talking therapy with guided hypnosis to calm the nervous system, build resilience, and support clearer thinking.

I’ve worked as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist within neurorehabilitation settings for over 9 years, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams and external professionals. This means hypnotherapy is delivered as part of the wider rehabilitation picture, not apart from it, with goals that align with the broader care plan and clear communication with the professionals involved.

Areas of clinical focus:

Spinal Cord Injury

The psycho-social adjustment after a SCI is lifelong and hypnotherapy can help at any point. Works to develop coping strategies for independence, social reintegration and acceptance around physical barriers and ongoing issues around pain.

Acquired/Traumatic Brain Injury

The complex nature of brain injuries means sessions are very bespoke. I can work to support fatigue management, memory and cognition, and offer wider psychological adjustment.

Amputation/Orthapedic

In depth knowledge around phantom limb pain/ sensations and the psychological impact of this on recovery and prosthesis use. Work to reconnect the mind body not unlike mirror therapy but in hypnosis.

Sleep Issues

A complete sleep programme which includes an assessment, education sessions and guided recordings with the aim of restoring a natural, healthy sleep cycle.

Functional Neurological Disorder

Helping client to understand deeper emotional responses to stress and therefore identify triggers Reducing stress and fatigue, allowing client to feel confident about their body again.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

By helping clients to process the emotional impact of their situation using rewind and reframe techniques helps build resilience and self belief and can help restore agency when engaging with the future.

How I Work With Case Managers?

1

Clear SMART goals

We agree therapy goals that align with your rehabilitation plan and the client’s own priorities.

2

Collaborative Working

With consent, I can liaise with you and other professionals to ensure hypnotherapy complements existing input rather than duplicating it.

3

Brief & Time Aware

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy gets results in a relatively short time so reduces the risk of clients getting ‘stuck’. Effective results in 5 – 8 sessions.

4

Trauma‑Sensitive Approach

Sessions avoid unnecessary detail around traumatic events, focusing instead on safety, regulation, and rebuilding a sense of agency.

FAQs

What are the costs?

Sessions are charged at an hourly rate, confirmed with you at the outset of therapy. Additional costs — such as travel, note writing, or report time — depend on your client’s needs and will always be agreed and discussed in advance. There are no hidden costs; you’ll be invoiced clearly for everything agreed.

Where will sessions take place?

I’m flexible depending on your client’s situation. Face-to-face sessions are available at my clinic or in their own home, if within reasonable distance, and I also offer online sessions for clients who are further away or less mobile.

How many sessions will be required?

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is completed on a weekly basis and is a relatively brief intervention with most people seeing results in 4 weeks. Recommended intervention between 4 – 12 weeks.

Is it safe?

Yes. SFH is safe and non-invasive, based on evidence-based psychological and neurological principles, and delivered by trained professionals.

Can SFH be used alongside other treatments/therapies?

Yes, SFH can complement other therapies and treatments such as CBT, counselling, or medication. It’s particularly useful for enhancing the effectiveness of other treatments or accelerating progress towards a goal.

What happens if a session is missed?

I work flexibly and understand that recovery isn’t always predictable. Wherever possible, please give at least 12 hours’ notice if a session needs to be cancelled or rearranged. However, I understand that last-minute cancellations are sometimes unavoidable due to a client’s condition, and I’ll always work with you to find a fair, sensible approach.
